How groups work

Day one we watch you ski, then split into 3–4 groups by skill. Groups are fluid and change through the week to fit your needs.

  • Above or below your group? You are moved, not stuck.
  • The level range is listed on every camp date

Camp levels

There is a group for exactly where you are.

Level 0

No previous powder/freeride experience needed.
Carving on easy EU red / USA blue slopes.
Short turns on a EU black / USA black diamond slopes.
Got the strength and endurance to ski 500 vertical meter freeride runs. If you regularly do sports and have the above-mentioned skills, you should be fine.

Level 1

Got some previous powder/freeride experience.
Carving on easy EU red / USA blue slopes.
Short turns on a EU black / USA black diamond slopes.
Can do short turns in powder with poor technique
Can "carve" long turns in powder when the slope is flat and conditions easy.

Level 2

Several days over a couple of ski seasons of previous powder/freeride experience.
Physically strong (Can ski the whole day in freeride conditions).
You can make it down two to three 1000-vertical-meter (3000 feet) freeride runs with a few short breaks per run and maybe a crash or two.

Level 3

Several days over a couple of ski seasons of previous powder/freeride experience.
Physically strong (ski whole day in freeride conditions).
Can ski 1000 vertical meter freeride runs (3000 feet) then scream in joy, "let´s do one more before lunch!".

The two most common worries

Both are almost always wrong.

  • "I have never Skiied Off Piste"

Never Skiied off piste. Try a level 0-1 freeride course first

  • "I dont have Safety Knowledge"

Not to worry, you will learn how to search for someone on the course

  • "Aren't I too old?"

Adults only. Most guests are between 25 and 60.

  • "Will I be held back?"

3–4 groups by ability, so you ski with skiers at your level.

Your coaches

Coached by Certified Freeride Coaches.

Stomp It Freestyle camp is the real deal — and yes, you should sign up if you even have the slightest inclination to try freestyle! Full disclosure: I’m only in my second season of skiing, and I showed up a little nervous about being the oldest one on the hill. Both concerns evaporated pretty fast. Max, Charlie, and Vincent are the kind of coaches who meet you exactly where you’re at — no judgment, no pressure, just good vibes and solid progression. Jens was also there to provide positive feedback and overall great energy. (And, yes, he’s as awesome in person as he comes across in his YT videos.) We worked on slope spins, switch skiing, jumps, and box slides. Box slides in particular had me a little sketched out going in, but by the end I was actually sending it and loving it. The way the coaches break things down makes stuff that looks scary feel totally approachable — and then suddenly you’re doing it. To my surprise, I was even able to nail a backflip at the trampoline park on my first attempt. The progression is real, the feedback is dialed, and the atmosphere makes you want to keep pushing. Didn’t matter that I wasn’t a 20-year-old park rat — everyone was stoked to see everyone else improve, and that energy is infectious. If you’re a newer skier, an older skier, or just someone who wants to actually level up their freestyle game in a legit setting — this camp is worth every bit of it. Laax is an amazing venue and Stomp It absolutely delivers. Already planning my return. Highly recommend. 🎿

Michał Jakubczyk, Google review · March 2026

It was my second camp this year. Its the best, the great coaches and ofcourse perfect conditions of the Freestyle park in Laax. I really enjoyed the week together with all the other guests and its always interesting and a lot of fun. I would totally recommend this camp to anyone who wants to try something new or already knows his way around a freestyle park. 10/10

Amazing experience, easily in the top 3 life experiences! Instructors Charlie and Vincent are awesome and show extraordinary patience with a 50-year-old clown such as myself who probably should not do freestyle skiing to start with! 🤩 I sure hope I’ll meet you guys again next season! …
