  • How to ollie 01:11

How to pop

When popping stand comfortably with a shoulder wide stance.
Crouch down with your body weight centered above the bindings of your skis. Flex the front of your ski boots down for extra pop.
Slightly pull your legs in the air and try to have your skis horizontal.

How to ollie

When doing the ollie stand comfortably with a shoulder wide stance.
Start with your arms slightly behind yourself and swing them forwards and up.
Start bending your skis by leaning back and swinging your arms up.
Extend your legs fully just before you take off of the ground.
Common mistake: Landing nose heavy. If you do either swing your arms more straight up or pop less of the tails.

How to jump on skis Part 2 - Jumps

Trick in tutorial

  • How to hit your first jumps 00:27
  • Common mistakes 01:41

How to hit your first jumps

Just like when popping, ride with your skis at a shoulder wide stance.
Approach the jump with your eyes focused on the edge of the jump with your knees bent and ready to pop.
Pop just at the end of the jump. This will maximise your air time! (which is awesome)
In the air look down at the spot where you are going to land and tilt your skis slightly forwards.
Absorb the landing by bending your legs. If the execution was done right you should have landed perpendicular to the landing.

Common mistakes

This guy lands tail heavy. And if you make this into a habit you will get very soar shins.
The reason he landing tail heavy is that he keep his legs straight in the entire kicker. If the legs are already straight you can not pop. So you really need to keep the legs slightly bent so you can pop hard of the edge of the jump.
Do not snow plow in to the jump. This is will cause a kinds of problems. Ride in with your skis parallel.
This guy tries to pop hard but his feet are to wide so he cant get a good pop. If this happens focus on keeping your feet closer together and the problem should sort it self out.

What to do:

Approach the jump with your eyes focused on the edge of the jump with your knees bent and ready to pop.
Pop just at the end of the jump. This will maximise your air time! (which is awesome)
In the air look down at the spot where you are going to land and tilt your skis slightly forwards.
